I was trying to clean my PC and organize the cables. I removed my old generic 8GB RAM stick by accident. I checked if it still worked because it looked intact. The computer didn’t start, there was no display, and it kept making loud noises. It would emit four long beeps followed by one short beep before shutting down repeatedly. I thought the RAM was broken so I replaced it, but it still kept beeping after installation. I also tried to stay calm since I was worried about damaging something. This is my last chance as a student and I don’t have money for a professional checkup.
You have a gigabyte H110M-H board, but you're not sure about the beep codes they gave you. You've already checked and fixed everything.
It's possible a cable came undone while handling them. You might want to verify if this is true.
It's strange I can't locate 4L1S beeps on the Gigabytes site. Let's troubleshoot. Verify all connections, including the PSU side if you have a modular setup. Confirm your manual says the RAM is installed properly—use only one stick at a time and try resetting CMOS. Maybe share a photo of the PC? We might spot something together.
I attempted to disconnect every cable except the 24-pin one because it was too snug, and I didn’t want to push it further.
