Ensure all components are correctly seated, verify proper connections, check for any bent or broken pins, confirm no electrical damage to parts. If everything looks good, consider that the motherboard might have been affected by power supply connection or cleaning process. ESD can easily harm a motherboard—just for humor, I’d attempt to reset the CMOS and test booting.

I've never updated a CMOS before... What's the process?

Remove the power cord, detach the CMOS battery, and press and maintain the CMOS button for ten seconds.

It's great to hear it helped! I've only attempted this before once, but I thought it might be worth a shot.

I had to sign up on this forum just to express my gratitude for your helpful advice. It helped me too! I was searching for a new motherboard to replace the faulty one, but I worried it might not be what I needed, so I checked the support sections thoroughly. And then I found it! Excellent!

Also added to share a positive note! A senior client had an GA-H110M-M.2 board that wouldn’t power up—this fix helped! No physical button, but opening the CMOS jumper resolved it. Appreciate the support!

This setup isn't working for you. You've tried it, but the power isn't getting through. Your ASUS A8N-E is paired with an Athlon 64 3700+ San Diego, and the mainboard LED is on, yet the power connections aren't activating.

You're experiencing the same issue where the motherboard briefly lights up before no action occurs. Have you tried resolving it?
