I've been attempting to make a bootable Win 11 USB drive for a new gaming PC, but I'm facing difficulties.
First, I downloaded the media creation tool and attempted to install it on a USB drive, which kept hanging around 56% without progressing or showing any errors.
Next, I installed Rufus to copy the ISO files, but it also stopped after copying about 3.2%.
I've been working on this for the past 24 hours and am starting to lose my patience.
I'm working with an ADATA C906 32 GB flash storage device. My computer has an AMD Ryzen 5 3500U processor and 8 GB of RAM. I don't have another USB flash drive available. The one I previously used is still in good condition, but I'll need to acquire a new one.
I formatted the USB to NTFS first before attempting to install the ISO with Rufus. I will use fdisk instead. The copying process appears to stall at boot.wim.
Cheap flash drives are a pain, particularly when dealing with numerous small files that require writing. It might take more than an hour or even become unresponsive. Try Ventoy instead. Simply transfer a large ISO file to the drive, and you can use several ISO files for different operating systems to accelerate the process.
