Problem avec Ethernet Lié à des difficultés dans la connexion réseau via Ethernet.
I can connect via Ethernet now, but I’m unsure what’s happening. The cable goes from the modem on the middle floor into the wall, then down to my motherboard’s Ethernet port. In Windows 10, network settings indicate Ethernet must be connected. I tried turning it off and on, powering down the supply, but it works fine with my Wi-Fi card. Need more details for help. My specs are: CPU/Ryzen 5 3600, motherboard B450 M.S. Pro Gaming Carbon WiFi, 8GB RAM (2xXPG), 3200MHz cooler, 240mm AIO GPU, RX 6600 XT, 750W power supply, Windows 10.
It seems the issue might be due to incorrect cable wiring or poor termination at the back of the socket. For a punch-style connector, troubleshooting often involves checking connections and ensuring proper installation. If you're experiencing recurring issues, it could be worth trying a different approach or consulting a professional.
Punch blocks can be challenging since excessive unwinding causes unwanted crosstalk. This issue remains undetected by basic continuity testers that only display light sequences. If problems persist, you may experience reduced performance, slower connections, or complete failure of Ethernet transmission. RJ connectors are more manageable, particularly EZ-RJs, allowing the entire straightened section to be inserted into the connector and maintaining twists deep within the plug.
Consensus reached. My issue was a double socket with one side functioning flawlessly while the other consistently limited performance to 100Mbit despite multiple attempts. I replaced the cable and added an EZ-RJ45 connector each time. EZ-RJs sometimes struggle to fully sever excess strands, so I need to be cautious about loose wires causing shorts. I also worked with CAT6 connectors, which required some adjustment—I’m still learning the proper procedure for each setup.
