Problem after hardware modification. Device malfunctions post-upgrade.
Hello, welcome to the forum! I see you're facing some challenges with your PC setup. You recently upgraded from an 8700K to a 3950X and are using an ASUS ROG B550-E motherboard. You wanted to reset your NVME drive and install Windows fresh, so you didn’t move the OS yet. After rebuilding with just the NVME drive and a Windows installation USB, you tried everything—checked BIOS, RAM, CPU detection, boot order, secure boot, even an old HDD with a working copy. The issue is that Windows won’t start at all, freezing or looping after a few cycles. You’ve already checked RAM, CPU, and GPU connections, but haven’t swapped out the GPU. I’m here to help you figure out what might be wrong. Any ideas or suggestions would be really helpful.
It's not clear if the installation went well or if you're facing issues during setup. Confirm your progress and try again. If problems persist, consider using another USB drive or port.
Sorry for the mix-up, I can't install Windows because it freezes before the installation menu appears. I've switched to a different USB port, and I'll try another one.
I've tested another USB and switched the port. The outcome remains the same—it crashes right after exiting the BIOS before Windows can load the install screen. I've also disconnected all drives and used just the USB, but no success. I was curious if having an NVIDIA GPU without drivers installed, possibly because the Windows install didn't find a compatible driver for that card, might be causing the problem and preventing proper booting.
