Problem about overclocking a 12700k?
Hello recently I upgraded my 10850k to 12700k and encountered issues with overclocking. I set allcore to 51 and voltage at 1.3, but the CPU never reached 5.1 on any program or game. I ran Cinebench, Prime95, OCCT, but it didn’t exceed 4.850 MHz. This occurred after a BIOS update; prior to that everything worked fine. I copied all settings before the update and applied them in BIOS, yet no improvement has been seen so far.
Are you relying on the HWMonitor application or the task manager? The task manager provides an imprecise measurement. Verify your display settings for the P-Cores in the HWMonitor to obtain a reliable value.
Consider your GPU, an RTX 3060, and evaluate the performance gains from overclocking the CPU. These processors adjust their speed based on the workload. They may slow down if the power setting is too low in Windows Control Panel. It seems they are operating within acceptable limits. The voltage is set at 1.3 volts.
Hello, to display the Utilization status for an Intel 12700K CPU with HWMonitor, you may need to adjust certain settings. Checking only the first thread of Core 0 seems to be the issue. Make sure the configuration matches your hardware setup—using a Gigabyte Aorus Elite MB, 64 GB RAM, and MSI Suprim 4090 GPU.
Clicked the + sign beside P-core and E-core, it displays the utilization core by core.
