Based on a suggestion (not present here), I bought an HP Envy Photo 7855 all in one. My printing requirements are quite limited, but when I need to print a document I don’t want the printer to struggle. It appears each time I try to print—maybe a few times a month—the cartridges get blocked, resulting in poor quality prints. When the printer functions properly, it produces excellent results. I think it would be better to always have a spare cartridge ready whenever I need to print, even if it’s not the most practical approach.

That said, I’m tired of this frustrating process; do you know if there’s an affordable printer/scanner/fax that can handle printing on demand, even occasionally?

Ink may dry up or clog if not used often. A budget laser printer is better. I own an HP Laserjet M1212nf MFP, but I wonder if they're still produced. Look into options in your area.

What does "reasonably priced" mean?

Thanks for the updates... an all-in-one laser seems quite likely.
Affordable option: around $200 or more.
I haven't set a price on a printer recently.

I could consider buying the smallest black cartridge ($20) whenever I need to print, as it might be practical if the current one fails. Could be useful for a short period...
