I need some assistance, so I overclocked my Fx 8320 which I had for a long time at 4.7ghz but decided to experiment more and it reached 4.9ghz at 1.44v. I ran prime 95 small FFT for an hour and a half without any errors. It works fine enough for me since I’m not one of those people who runs it for 24 hours.

Recently, I also got DDR3 2400mhz RAM and know the maximum rated it supports is 1833mhz. I have a crosshair V formula Z motherboard.

So here comes the interesting part:
Blend test failed with one core, 0 errors, and 100 warnings. I tried various speeds on the 2400mhz RAM, 2133, 1866, etc., and even used auto mode, but it still fails. It also starts failing during the 8k test.

I also increased the CPU/voltage settings to check if that would help, but nothing worked. I went back to the manual timings which were the 2400mhz specs, but then switched them to auto to see if it would make a difference. Still, no improvement.

I decided to test with the RAM running at 2133mhz since it fails across all frequencies. I also increased the Vcore voltage to give the 4.9ghz a bit more power, but the blend test still didn’t pass.

At this point, I’m pretty sure all RAM settings are set to auto, and it still doesn’t meet the requirements.
The only frequency is auto, running at 2200mhz, and HT is also auto at 2200mhz.

I have a 32gb 4x8 drive, and the only thing I can think of is maybe increasing the DRAM voltage to 1.65v or even bumping it up by two points to see if that would help.
What do you guys think? What else should I try?

Ensure the newest BIOS is installed. Formula Z works well with a good MMO – I own one too. Start by setting the CPU/NB voltage to 1.3, and keep the DRAM voltage at 1.65. Please let us know the outcome.
