Hi, I saw the Corsair VENGEANCE CMK32GX5M2B6000C30 listing as Intel XMP compatible. I haven’t upgraded recently and wonder if it’s actually suitable for my setup. The only RAM I have is a motherboard that only supports Intel or AMD, or maybe it’s just marketing talk. Other listings mention both Intel and AMD in the title, but I’m not sure which one fits my Ryzen 9 7900X. If I buy the Intel version, will it work with an AMD CPU?
It doesn't make sense. If the motherboard is compatible with DDR5 memory, you can install DDR5 RAM in it (though speed and timing support may vary by model).
Thanks for the feedback, but I understand why this might be confusing and bothersome.
Expo kits have been confirmed by AMD for working with Zen4 chips at the moment. This was highlighted during a recent tour of AMD labs. It’s an open standard anyone can adopt, though soon after its launch this became the norm. Unlike earlier times when everything relied on XMP and some products were just marked as "for AMD," this approach is now consistent.
