Hello, I was planning to purchase some RAM for my build and discovered an 8GB (2x4) DDR3 HyperX Fury 1600MHz unit priced at 20 euros. I believe that price is quite low for such RAM and it could be a fake. Do you have any idea on how to verify if a RAM stick is genuine? Thank you in advance.

It's a DDR3 model, and I don't want to click the link, but I think it's still in good condition. A 20 Euro price for 8GB of used memory isn't particularly cheap.

It's a reasonable deal on used DDR3 RAM. If it fits your setup and you're short on memory, it's definitely a good investment.

It’s just an 8GB system running at 1600MHz, which makes the price quite reasonable for a model with heatsinks. You’ll need to physically test for any dead sticks, since you can’t rely on just the specs.

I have 2 GB of DDR2, which should make it a noticeable improvement. The motherboard supports 1333 DDR3, so the 1600 RAM should function properly.

DDR3 memory isn't suitable for DDR2 motherboards. A complete system overhaul would be necessary, and upgrading to newer options like Ryzen would be the better choice.

It was really four slots total. Two dedicated to DDR2 and two for DDR3 (Asus P5G41C-M LX)

Socket 775 includes a few boards that accommodate both types, but not simultaneously. They only accept 2 and 4GB DDR3 modules, and for 4GB you need dual-rank chips (two chips per stick, totaling 16). Therefore, the kit you mentioned won't function properly.

Then it should function properly. Don't worry about this tool not working.
