Price for i9 9900K after the 10,700k drop is uncertain.
With the 10700K released, many wonder if the i9 9900K will see a significant price drop. Since the 10700K outperforms the 9900K by roughly $100, could the 9900K secure discounts bringing it under $410? Or will Intel maintain its pricing strategy to keep the 9900K premium in the market?
It could fall but not as much as expected. Possibly around fifty dollars at most. Why would you receive the 9900k? The 10700k is essentially about 180 less than that.
it will remain strong with new Intel keeping old shares undervalued. it will maintain a premium used price since it's the quickest option for those boards. similar to the 3770ks, 4770/4790, and 6700k/700K models, all face high costs. (most ignore the 5th generation components)
9900K remains a valuable option for upgrading to the LGA 1151-V2 connector. As more people discuss it, it seems unlikely the price will drop below what 10700K commands.
They don't really care, Ryzen holds the crown. Intel's quiet approach doesn't matter, hehe.
