Price for Far Cry Primal game
Price for Far Cry Primal game
Uplay won't offer FCP during a while. They aim to maximize earnings. You can still obtain the game from GMG ($40), Kinguin ($40) or G2A ($44). The biggest Steam discount might be around 10%, but nothing will drop below that for a while.
What I worried about was the steep price drops Steam makes constantly, like a wild animal. Origin also has some flash sales, which are decent lately. I haven’t seen Uplay do anything similar before. The only game I play on Uplay is Fry Cry 4, so I’m not sure if I’ll even notice.
It's best to get it from G2a or a similar seller. Based on what I've seen, uPlay is likely the main option.
I’d examine the Far Cry 4 pricing chart on Steam. It seems the game dropped 20% during the winter sale a few months after launch, then saw big drops in February (33%), March (40%), June (50%), and after a year it fell from $60 to $50. Around six months later, another major discount hit—just $20, which is the lowest price I’ve noticed so far. I’d hope similar deals appear on Primal Source or Steam, though Uplay prices aren’t always clear.
I placed a pre-order via GMG (Green Man Gaming) because they’re currently offering a 33% discount for VIP members. They provide a Uplay key instead of Steam, which isn’t a big deal for me. New games often take months to drop in price and usually only see around 25% off at that stage. Once you wait six months to a year, the sale drops to 30% or more. GMG has consistently delivered solid deals on new releases, typically offering 25-35% off even before the official release date.
New titles from Ubisoft often take time to hit the market. A big Steam promotion tomorrow might bring 10% off Primal, but it won’t reach 50% for months. The "Uplay sale" idea seems confusing. Greenmangaming lists Primal at $39.99 now, and you’re unlikely to find a better deal from an authorized seller soon.
I hadn't thought such a thing was available for games. I understood some parts had it, but not games themselves—I'll keep this in mind next time I shop. GJ, sir! Since you both mentioned GMG, I think it's probably real (I haven't heard much about it on these forums). I clicked the link and it showed $39.99, but there was one question. Why did MEC mention VIP members? Or can I just create an account and get a play key by March 1? For $40, I'll buy it tonight! (I'm at work, so I can stay on a site like GMG without getting caught!)
Honestly, I'm unsure about GMG's situation. They're thought to be an authorized reseller, yet there are whispers connecting them to grey market channels (link). Their ability to beat other authorized sellers is impressive, which is something we locals will support fiercely. I've bought several games from GMG without any issues. The "VIP section" seems confusing because it only needs site login, likely a standard requirement for purchases. The wording feels off, but that's the only thing to note.
I felt a bit concerned after posting online. The article I found suggested GMG isn't officially recognized by Ubisoft as an authorized reseller, which was one of the first things I saw. My FC Primal key is for the Uplay X version, so I’m not too interested in the grey market side. I’m worried that Ubisoft might block the key I receive. Will they refund me? Or will I end up with nothing like you mentioned? They’re offering it at a much lower price compared to big retailers like Best Buy or Amazon, which usually only give a few dollars off.
