I received my AMD Ryzen 7 3800x for my birthday, connected it with an ASUS ROG Strix B450-F Gaming motherboard. After installing everything properly, I noticed the temperatures were unusually high. Someone suggested undervolting and overclocking to lower the temps without sacrificing performance. I tried this once, then left it alone, and again after a reboot the red CPU light stayed on. I reset the CMOS but didn’t get any results. My highest recorded temperature during Cinebench was around 85°C. Details: CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3800x, Cooler: AMD Wraith Prism, RAM: 16GB Corsair Vengeance LPX 3000MHz, GPU: MSI 1660 ti Gaming X, Power Supply: Corsair CX 650M.

During testing Cinebench, the maximum temperature reached around 85°C.

Good. Just make sure the cooler isn't getting too hot, or you might need to upgrade it later... (you can always fix that when it's convenient).

pins labeled cl rtc, positioned at the bottom right of the motherboard, left of the RGB header, right of USB 2 headers. Bridge used for resetting BIOS.
