Previous problems on the old motherboard with temperature tracking
Hey all, so I recently built a new machine and converted my old desktop, an asus prebuilt, to be a nas/media server for me and my family. It’s an A10-6700 processor in an A55 motherboard (motherboard seems to be an OEM specific model) and has a stock block heat sink. The OS I’m using (freeNas) is reporting 3 degrees Celsius at idle on the core which there is no way that it is that cold on that stock heat sink. This is mildly concerning because since the temp is not reporting right, the fan on the heat sink doesn’t spin up. so my question is, what can I do to get an accurate temp report? Should I get a new Mobo? Or is there another method I could try?
I managed that, though the problem lies in it being an OEM board. The Asus site doesn’t show the exact model (A55BM-A/M32BF); they only list A55BM-A/USB3. Should I attempt the USB version, or should I reach out for the precise BIOS details?
