Hey there, so I just switched my PC from a GTX 1060 with 16GB RAM to an RTX 3070Ti and 32GB RAM. Still running the same first-gen Ryzen 5 1600 on my Asus Prime B350-Plus board. I thought this would create a bottleneck, but I didn’t expect it to be so severe—I experience extreme frame drops and occasional crashes in PUBG, plus serious screen tearing in CS:GO. I’ve pushed the graphics settings high to ease the CPU strain, but it helps little. Any advice on suitable CPU upgrades for that motherboard? I’m currently at 1080p and planning a jump to 1440p eventually.

the cpu and gpu operate independently, so increasing graphics settings won’t reduce cpu workload—it merely slows the gpu without improving performance. the board is compatible with the 5950x, which is a solid choice.

I believe a Rizen 7 could resolve the issue! They’re more affordable than a Rizen 9 at the moment.

They seem to be pointing out a misspelling and a bit of teasing.

I'm really sorry about that, everyone makes mistakes. It's okay to not be perfect with spelling! 😅 Your sister probably just wanted to have fun.

The motherboard is compatible with 5th generation Ryzen processors. It’s a solid choice if you're looking for an upgrade. You can compare various models and read many reviews to decide. It might be better to skip the top-tier options (5900x / 5950x) because of age-related issues like VRM and board quality. Consider models such as 5600, 5600x, 5700x, 5800x, or 5800x3D. The 5800x3D still performs well against 13th gen Intel and 7000 series Ryzen CPUs for gaming.
