Preventing Windows 11 issues with HP Reverb G2
Back story So I’m planning a fresh Windows 11 setup on my new PC built with an i7-14700K. However, the HP Reverb G2 won’t work anymore since WMR is removed in Windows 11 version 24H2. My concerns: 1. Can I install Windows 11 23H2 and only get security updates, skipping the upgrade to 24H2? 2. Can I upgrade to 24H2 then downgrade to 23H2 for similar updates, avoiding the higher version? 3. Is Windows 11 worth the hassle? Should I just stick with Windows 10? Thanks ahead for your advice...
Yes, likely. After a certain time, Microsoft pushes updates, and it's unclear how many registry tweaks or policy adjustments could prevent this situation.
You need a Windows 11 LTS installation. You can obtain a key yourself or use ISO files from archive.org. With Group Policies you might block updates for Windows. Remember this version may not receive future support, so be prepared for the inevitable phase-out.
