Initially, all three of my system installs relied on the same EFI boot manager on my old M.2 drive, which created problems because it treated one SSD as a single unit. I removed that SSD and everything worked, but the old manager still remembered three boot options and would force a disk check every time I booted, asking me to press a key within a certain time. Now I’ve set up separate EFI partitions for each drive, but the check prompts persist. It’s frustrating, so I’m wondering if there’s a way to disable this automatic check process.
You can't stop Check Disk from activating because of file system problems, but you can disable it using the Chkntfs or Check NTFS tools. Open Start, search for “cmd,” and hit Enter. Run “chkntfs /x c:” and press Enter. If Windows isn’t on the default C drive, replace “C” with your actual volume letter.
Windows PE and the Windows installer rely on X as the primary system volume drive.
