Initially yes, I've looked into pcpartpicker. Everything functions properly, but for the motherboard and CPU it suggests a BIOS update might be necessary due to an older Ryzen processor. I don't have any other CPUs besides the Intel one I'm passing on to my brother. The motherboard is an Asus ROG STRIX B450-F GAMING and the CPU is the Ryzen 5 3600.

You already possess certain components. For a completely new purchase, consider the B550 board—it ensures full functionality right out of the box. Support for Zen 3 is expected later this year.

I agree with @FloRolf , waiting for B550 makes the most sense unless you need that system asap.

Similar to that, perhaps an additional $10-20 for the board would be fine—it’s still a good deal. Would you share your full planned build?

Consider purchasing a Ryzen 4000 later if possible, or opt for a B550 or X570. If you’re not ready yet and want to assemble a PC now, buy what’s available today. I recently bought a 3700X and X470 motherboard because I plan to stick with DDR5 and upgrade eventually in a few years.
