The only concern in the US is data moving online. NSA devices in major telecoms can intercept that information. They may request your phone records and social media access, but installing malware on your computer seems unlikely. If anything was installed at the factory, you're probably safe. This explains why I don’t recall my passwords and rely on Lastpass. I’d never leave my phone in another country. They can’t ask for access to something I can’t remember. LOL.
