Hello, you're about to purchase the final component for your build but aren't sure which memory kit to choose with your 5900x and Asus B550-E. You've already considered two options: one from Overclockers and another from Crucial. Could you share some personal experiences or recommendations? I want to make sure everything goes smoothly. The quicker the better. You likely won’t gain much from more than 16GB of RAM, but having 2x8GB would be ideal if you plan to upgrade later. Ryzen thrives with fast RAM, so speed should be your main focus. Prioritize quality over quantity. The RAM you pick needs to perform well, and if the full 32GB fits your budget, there’s no reason not to go for it. I’ve never heard of this RAM before, so I’d suggest Corsair or Crucial.
Choose the high-speed ballistix 3600MHz CL16 for speed, fast RAM, and performance boosts by overclocking. If budget matters, opt for a 3200MHz CL16 with cheaper RAM that can also be overclocked to match. Have you assembled your setup yet? What components are you considering or have you already purchased?
I went for G.Skill since they could be B-Die. Flat 16s look better than 16 with a few 18s.
The project is progressing and all components have been ordered except memory. The budget isn’t a limit, though I’d prefer to keep it around £200. The parts include 5900x, b550-e, rtx 2060 (temp gpu), lian li o11 mini, nhd15 chromax black, sf750, 970 evo plus 1tb. Are you certain the crucial unit is the better option? Teamgroup one has better experience and seems to perform well compared to the crucial. Also, I might have to return the crucial if it ends up as a single-channel kit instead of what’s being offered.
