Premium Headphones Designed for PC and Xbox One Gaming
Hey how's it going guys, my current headset broke and am looking to upgrade to something I can use for PC gaming as well as Xbox One. I currently have the Gamecom 780, which actually isn't too bad, but time for something new.
I am looking for something that is 7.1 Surround, I play a lot of competitive CS:GO so being able to tell where footsteps, noise, etc is very important. I prefer wired, but could deal with wireless (not sure if you can connect wireless to Xbox One, I only recently purchased it). I also have decent sized ears, the Gamecoms got pretty uncomfortable after wearing them for a while. Also I want them to be close ended.
My budget is at the maximum $200. I would of course like to stay a bit away from that but if it's worth the extra, might as well. One headset that sparked some interest was the Sennheiser Game Zero, but that is right up there at my maximum mark, and was looking to get some other ideas if there are comparable sets for a better price. Thanks
Frankly, these 5.1 and 7.1 surround sound headphones are largely ineffective—essentially a novelty. A genuinely excellent stereo audio headset would significantly outperform any gaming headset I’ve encountered in terms of sound quality and the ability to discern distinct noises. I personally own a Bose headset, which is exceptional; however, many individuals prefer Sennheiser models. My experience with gaming headsets has consistently revealed them to be primarily about appearance rather than actual performance.

To my knowledge, competitive gamers typically employ stereo sound rather than surround sound. As previously mentioned, this is largely considered a novelty and appears significantly overhyped by individuals lacking experience with audio technology.
I tried G35, etc. those gaming headsets sucks.
Much gimmick, much pricy, no use, sound sucks!
It is better to have a really good headphone.
I am now happy with my V-Moda M100 (also happy with my previous ATH-M50, before my brother snatched it away).
In the beginning was the on-board sound card for the headphones but now I have ASUS Xonar Essence STX 2, this soundcard rocks!
Whoops, sorry but it's been a while. Wound up buying the Sennheiser Game Zeros, absolutely love them. No ear fatigue, even with my large ears. Fantastic sound. I wouldn't recommend them for high quality music, but for gaming they are fantastic. And this is all with no sound card, I bet when I install mine they will be even better.
