Hey there, I tried using PrecisionX while gaming yesterday with a custom fan curve active. But something went wrong. Normally I play Diablo 3 at 4K DSR in ultra and everything works fine, but with my 980Ti I hit 83°C during load. I decided to set up a custom fan curve and enabled the overlay in PrecisionX so I could monitor temperatures while playing. Unfortunately, the game crashed right after launching at 4K and froze at 1080p, showing a constant 36°C without any adjustment. Anyone know what’s causing this issue? Why did it crash at high resolution and then freeze? I only changed the fan curve to an aggressive setting in PrecisionX, no overclocking or other tweaks. The software seems to be updated to the latest version...

I really enjoy EVGA and Precision X... The only advice I can give is to note your current overclock settings, remove Precision X, and install MSI Afterburner. Good luck!

As mentioned, I don't have an overclock. The GPU is running at its standard settings.

It could work better if you tried Afterburner next.

I share your view. I've found Afterburner more effective than Precision X. I also explored overlay options for you. Check out CAM by NZXT—it offers a great overlay and system monitoring feature that could help track temperatures, fan speeds, and load.
