I get it, lol. I mostly pick up everything about electronics when I run into faulty items and there aren’t reliable repair places. Ten years ago I’d call a motherboard a processor, right? I’ve chatted with an electrician about circuit breakers—he installed one and it’s top-notch, available almost anywhere. Sure, you could order them from overseas through a proxy, but for now I’m just hoping to fix my PC and get back online. Mobile OSes have way too many restrictions compared to plain text Linux.
Have anyone considered possible causes for this problem? I’m using the same PSU and experiencing the same issue. Even when I power it on without testing or connecting anything, the breaker flips and there’s a spark near the AC input. The PSU was provided at work for free because it was faulty, and I’m eager to try a repair before starting a new project.
Ensure HVAC or heavy equipment isn't connected to surge protector units or power strips. Battery packs in surge protectors have a defined capacity they can manage, which is the safe limit. Faulty series power supplies do occur, but there are no recalls. If you own this model, consider replacing it.
