It's a good concept overall but not quite there. He could begin the computer, wouldn't you agree? It seems like it's already started fully, no partial setup. I'd suggest plugging everything back in, resetting everything, and sticking to the essentials. Perhaps place the motherboard and power unit on a table and test from there. I believe he might be making a mistake. Generally, you're acting too quickly—I remember my colleagues often said the issue lies between the machine and the floor (the operator). I started by removing everything before listing my test steps.

I switched to a different board that had identical components and worked fine. I purchased an MSI board at Best Buy on sale for $130 instead of dealing with an Asus RMA issue.

Based on what I understand from the original message, the device fails to start properly. The comment suggests keeping the power button pressed to attempt a boot, but even then it doesn't work consistently. It seems you might have missed the initial post details.

I found your comment unusual. I still checked the original message—I don’t think you’ve understood my side. Those two pins only handle one small contact for turning on. They do detect that contact, so there’s no corrosion issue. Edited May 27, 2023 by leclod
