I rely on a TV as my screen for the computer. This TV is also a smart display. I use it to stream content while my PC handles other tasks. When streaming, I switch to the correct input and expect HDMI to appear. However, sometimes the computer doesn’t start showing the image even after switching. This isn’t a major problem—I can usually restart or reposition the cable. Ideally, I’d just reboot often. The real issue arises when my Windows 11 PC boots up but shows no display. Since Microsoft provides several ways to shut down or restart, all require clicking on something on the screen. That’s frustrating because the main goal is fixing the screen problem. I can’t locate any interactive element if it’s not working. All previous versions of Windows have offered keyboard shortcuts for shutdowns, but none let me reboot without interacting with the display. Microsoft has removed the ability to customize these shortcuts. Fortunately, they still allow a keyboard method via the System Properties menu using commands like `shutdown.exe`. This helps if you’re on a shared device and need to restart quickly. If anyone knows a registry tweak or alternative trick to add shutdown options in Ctrl+Alt+Del, that would be great. Third-party tools such as AutoHotkey won’t work unless the system is logged in and services aren’t running.
