Short screws secure the motherboard, while standoffs keep it separate from the case.

Sure to be clear—just checking if you looked into the BIOS version. The Ryzen 5 4500 came out after the B450M-A 2, which means your board might need a patch.

You mean what exactly you're referring to? If the computer doesn't turn on, there might be damage or assembly issues. Please share photos after reinstalling the motherboard. Also, start verifying the front panel connectors and ensure the power button is connected properly. This follows what Fasauceome mentioned about the BIOS—RGB lights turned on either when plugging in the computer to a power source or after pressing the power button on the case. I also saw the rear I/O shield is missing... The case (Zalman S2?) includes a user guide that will explain the required screws and parts. Please check the manuals. Also, verify that the front I/O buttons for power and reset are connected properly. Refer to both the case and motherboard documentation for details. Power switch = PWR_BTN Light = PWR_LED (with positive and negative wires) RESET switch = RESET HDD Light = HDD_LED (also with positive and negative wires)

I don’t possess a USB drive, so I’ll need to acquire one.

The power switch isn't activating the machine, yet illumination appears when the power source is engaged.

They’re still using the wrong screws—it seems like a mismatch. Try the smaller ones with a flared ring; they should have finer threads than the current ones. It looks like they’re not going all the way. As long as you get the right screws, there shouldn’t be any resistance when inserting them before reaching the mainboard.
