Hi friends, I received this MoBo yesterday. Out of curiosity, I changed the BIOS to chip on the left side and pressed START on MoBo. Unfortunately, the power supply is clicking and starting in an off-on-off pattern, the fan starts spinning and then stops, continuing in that loop. The whole system seems stuck in a boot cycle, and I can’t even reach the BIOS menu. No display appears. Is there a way to fix this issue with the BIOS? The second BIOS board works fine.

It seems like someone accidentally changed the BIOS settings. This might be useful, but I should test the board with parts first before saving anything.

If your board functions properly on the second BIOS version, you might choose to leave it unchanged and avoid further action. However, if you aim to fix the first BIOS, flashback is likely your best choice at that stage. You won't be able to use other methods because the computer keeps restarting endlessly. Of course, we're always interested in seeing what happens next—good luck!

I need to review the instructions, if this model allows BIOS flashback there isn't a traditional button on the input side like with newer Asus boards.

The button is located between the two Ethernet ports and features a double chain link. The USB port is positioned next to it at a 90-degree angle.

the two bios chips fit into slots (right next to the front panel<|pad|>, so you can easily update them with a ch341a). i think it’s simpler than using the older ASUS BIOS recovery tool. just note that aside from the gene, all ASUS P67/z68 chips only support up to 2200 MHz RAM, which is pretty limited for Ivy that can handle ~2800, though that’s not a big problem on their Z77 model

They seem amusing when they help with BIOS tools, but copying a current BIOS copy isn't possible according to ASUS. I wouldn't download files from questionable sites for safety. I discovered a link where a dual BIOS board offers a way to transfer one BIOS to the other. Images are persistent NVRAM, so results might vary. If that feature isn't available, you may be stuck using the second BIOS indefinitely. Good luck!
