Hello, A sudden lightning event disrupted power at your location. My computer was on when the outage began; after flipping the circuit breaker I checked it briefly and it briefly lit before shutting off again. (video attached) I attempted to connect the PS_ON cable directly to the 24-pin PSU, and the fan started while I believed the power supply was intact. No signs of damage were noticed near the motherboard or visible issues. Specifications: PSU model EVGA 450BT (450W 80+ bronze), Intel i5-10400, RAM not listed. Date recorded: 2024-02-14 07:12.

If a lightning strike occurred, a surge might have happened. It’s good that your PSU stopped it from affecting the whole PC. Do you have another PSU available for testing?

You'd have to purchase a single unit to evaluate all aspects.

I'll attempt to find the replacements. Be careful—my wallet isn't pleased with this.

Ensure you’re not relying on friends or relatives to provide a PSU for testing. You could also ask a local PC service provider to inspect it. This might save money compared to purchasing a PSU if the issue isn’t there. Considering a surge-protected power board could be beneficial for future needs.
