This morning my computer entered sleep mode unexpectedly. I unplugged the power cable, and when electricity returned it wasn't strong enough to operate properly, causing damage. Once power was restored, plugging the PC back in and booting to the desktop worked fine until I opened the Oculus app. It usually runs without issues since it's disabled at startup. For those without VR headsets or specifically the Oculus Rift, the setup automatically launches the app when the headset is worn. I closed it multiple times, then reopened it repeatedly for about five minutes before finally disconnecting the display port and USB connection into the MOBO. The issue stopped after that. Why did this happen? What might have caused it?

The sensor on the headset may be dusty or obscured by the face shield. Check the status LED above it; if it’s off or flickering randomly, Oculus will keep reopening.

It's unusual to have never cleaned the headset before. Just plugging in the USB and Display port seems to have resolved the issue. If the sensor was the problem, reinserting the cables shouldn't fix it.

Oculus reacts unevenly to the sensor. I rely on a low-quality third-party face shield from VR Cover, which keeps triggering it. It usually turns on Oculus repeatedly right after a restart and then halts once the machine powers down or the headset is removed. That’s why I recommend paying attention to the LED light during these moments.

Sure, I'll make sure to review the LED indicator in the future. Thanks for the assistance! Have a great day!
