On desktops it doesn't make much of a difference, just check that the maximum processing speed is at 100%, but high performance normally has that set anyway, so yes.

on a desktop it's mainly about how bold or sluggish the clock ticks become during intense performance moments. You’ll likely catch it if you watch an FPS counter, but otherwise it’s usually hard to spot.
