I disabled sleep in Windows settings, took a shower, and tried to boot. The first attempt without restart showed system BIOS corruption on a black screen, but restarting resolved it. This seems unrelated to the motherboard—your question about whether you still have the motherboard box and if you can proceed with an RMA is valid.
For an RMA, you don't always require a box—just the hardware and receipt are sufficient. A box is merely convenient for shipping; any container works. Also, have you inspected the CPU for bent pins? Could you consider swapping it with another AM4 CPU if needed?
Use a suitable protective bag and secure it well to avoid any harm during shipping.
