I re-added Windows 10 v1803 to my laptop and noticed there were more partitions than before—1709 was replaced by a higher number. I’m checking if any of these are old recovery partitions and marked the one I’m concerned about. No changes made yet, but I’m taking screenshots for reference.

It mentions NTFS and your drive is assigned a letter. What content is stored there?

I adjusted the mapping to prioritize C:/ as the main drive and D:/ as the optical drive. Ran a reboot to check if any issues arose from reassigning letters, and everything seemed fine. It looks like the system is empty except for some hidden folders. Recovery is mentioned, so...

The dimensions relative to the "OEM Recovery" area suggest it might be the previous recovery partition from an earlier Windows setup. Were you able to install the latest Windows version without issues?

I accessed the Advanced Settings, Restart and Erase options. However, it seems the complete removal wasn’t successful—my files remained in Windows.old.

Occasionally the most effective method for clearing the hard drive is during OS installation. While other options exist, this approach has been standard in our workplace. A helpful guide I discovered is here: http://smallbusiness.chron.com/wipe-hard...54129.html

I might risk losing my data this time. I mentioned this reset in my latest updates—it was a lucky chance I got the laptop to perform it. If I had the chance, I’d install a custom recovery on all my machines before making any major changes (such as another reset).
