I noticed a gaming MoBo box on my desk with a fried unit and a possible good CPU—an Intel i7 9700K. I’m considering using it but have a Ryzen at home. Before purchasing anything, I want to make sure it won’t damage the new one. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

Some bad motherboards might harm the CPU, though I haven’t observed the reverse. I don’t need to be concerned either way—the chip could crash or it might work fine.
