Possible failure scenario for Lian-Li Galahad 360 AIO
Details: Processor 5900X with Gigabyte Aorus Master X570 GPU, G.skill Trident Z Neo 3600MHz, 2x16GB RAM. Previously stable temps were about 8°C above ambient at idle and 30°C under full load (Cinebench). Recently idle temps rose to ~45°C, games hit 60°C or more, and one test exceeded 100°C. After cleaning and shaking the unit, temperatures briefly returned but only temporarily. The radiator is hotter than others, cooling more effectively near the loop, and the pump speed is listed at 3300rpm via HWINFO. Uncertain if pump failure, air bubbles, or another issue. The pump connector is connected to the CPU opt header.
The way it's supposed to be I guess? The mount is fine, and I used to hear a bit of gurgling on start up but not so much any more, but that was when it was working well.
I reached out to Lian-Li who is dispatching a replacement pump. The delivery timeline is expected to be 3-4 weeks, which is frustrating. In the future, I plan to abandon AIOs entirely and opt for a fractal torrent setup along with an NH-D15. This marks the third AIO I've had in three years that has malfunctioned. I'm finished dealing with AIOs.
