Ports remain inaccessible.
I attempted port forwarding and verified multiple sites for open ports, but they remain closed. Someone can help with troubleshooting? I use an Ethernet connection, a dynamic IP address, and selected IPv4 instead of IPv6. The IPv4 address is set to the local IP.
You're aware that a dynamic IP address changes periodically, which means your PC's IP can shift. To ensure port forwarding functions properly, you should lock down a specific IP for that device. Additionally, there are two protocols—TCP and UDP—used in port forwarding. Are you using the appropriate protocol for your setup?
Several platforms struggle to identify open UDP ports. Most function properly only with TCP.
A fixed static IP shouldn't resolve the issue alone—verify configuration details. Since many sites rely on TCP, ensure port settings match their requirements. To confirm if a service is accessible, use tools that support TCP connections.
The static IP would be on your own Internal network. So it might look something like this: Device name/MAC Static IP address RobloxServer 192.168.0.5 Then have the port forwards forward to that server. Please note there is a fairly significant risk with exposing even 1 port on the open Internet, let alone over 16,000. You'll want to have regularly scheduled downtime to be able to update your server. *Edit* Requiring over 16,000 ports to work properly is absolutely absurd. Apparently I'm not the only one who thinks this as well. As such, I cannot in good faith recommend or support hosting or running a Roblox server due to the, to put it mildly, poor security design.
Identify the part that links a MAC address to a particular internal or private IP on your gateway device. Use the MAC address belonging to the computer needing firewall access. Set up firewall rules for both TCP and UDP ports. Consider using the site you mentioned to verify your ports: yougetsignal.com
Yes, you should use the physical MAC address listed in your network settings. It matches the IPv4 address you're using.
