I set it up this way because I thought it would be safe and straightforward. It seems like the main problem is fitting a mini display port through a small wall opening, but I’m not sure why it fails when all three are connected together. The adapter must be plugged straight into the PC. It uses 3.3 V power from the DisplayPort connection. Regular DP to DP cables don’t supply this voltage via the cable itself; they only provide data. Therefore, the adapter won’t function through an extension like this.
