Essentially, you receive what you pay for. I’d just connect them, which would save a lot of trouble later. They don’t even have to be restricted to the 100M ethernet range since they can operate at 100 megabits per second.
I've been using Eufy's wireless security cameras for a few years now and really like them. Don't have to pay a subscription. The only solar version I have experience with is the S120 and it works well for my purposes. As long as you get half-decent sun exposure of the solar panel during the daytime and use only motion-activated recordings, it lasts pretty long. I would assume the other solar alternatives work in the same way.
