Port problems with Display Port
I was using my PC with Minecraft and the screens went dark saying "no signal." After restarting, everything worked again without issues. Over the past few days, this has happened intermittently—sometimes the monitors stay off even after a reboot. The PC remains on while the screens are off, but I can still hear the game audio briefly. I’ve checked other users who reported similar problems, but they said their monitors wouldn’t turn back on after a restart. My setup uses a display port on my 3080. Can you help me figure out what’s going on?
You’ll need to diagnose this by taking several steps: Switch cables—consider a different DP or HDMI. If using DP, ensure it’s a genuine VESA cable. Experiment with another input on your monitor or a different output from your GPU. Test connecting your PC to another monitor or TV to see if the problem continues. Based on what you find, the fault might lie in the cable, the monitor, or the GPU/driver.
Using HWinfo64 and configuring logging can help you track performance issues. Monitor the logs during operation for any spikes in power usage or unusual activity. Check if your GPU displays a diagnostic light when there’s a power-related problem.
It might be that the GPU is slightly misaligned and could detach from the PCIe slot. People sharing similar concerns often mention this as a contributing factor.
