Port forwarding for server and printer connections.
Port forwarding for server and printer connections.
I own two routers at home. One is an Xfinity Modem/Router and the other is an Orbi. The Orbi connects to the Xfinity Router. I'm trying to redirect a server to the Orbi, but it isn't working. I'm unsure if the issue is because another router is in front of the Orbi. Any guidance or advice would be greatly appreciated! Additionally, I have a printer and want to make sure it can connect to both networks. How should I set it up? Which router should it join and where should it be forwarded? Thanks!
The layout with a central network doesn’t fit well due to walls and spread-out areas. We opted for an Orbi mesh network to improve connectivity. There’s a furnace and oven between my room and the router, making it hard to get Wi-Fi without a mesh setup. Can someone help make sure the server appears on both networks?
Does a double NAT interfere with your setup? It’s unclear if it’s problematic, but you should confirm your router’s behavior. Making your Orbi the primary router isn’t inherently bad, but ensure your network configuration matches your needs.
