I'm struggling to find the right MOBO for your setup. You're looking for something compatible with a Ryzen 5 3600 and featuring a display port, but it's hard to locate due to stock issues on major retailers. Have you considered alternatives like a similar model with a USB-C display or a different port type?

You don’t have to include a displayport on the board when you’re not purchasing an APU. You also shouldn’t use the X570 for a 3600 model. I get why you might need it, but if your worry is about future upgrades, wait for the B550. The B450 remains a reasonable choice.

I believed the display port, especially if the screen also uses those links, delivers better frames per second than an HDMI connection, even with the latest HDMI standards.

The motherboard's display-out connections won't function unless you're purchasing a CPU that includes a built-in GPU (APU). All visuals will be processed via the separate GPU.

Yes, for your first setup you should connect the cable straight to the GPU rather than through the back port.

check for B550 when possible, as mentioned by @Slottr you can reach that upgrade path to Ryzen 4000

The graphics card details indicate two display ports are available, matching the setup on both the motherboard and my monitor. Using an APU would still provide access to those ports, so there’s no need to skip the motherboard entirely. You could connect directly to the GPU without bypassing it, but doing so might limit features or compatibility depending on your system.
