This splitter isn't built for stretching displays; it's likely just for mirroring. It doesn't support the 1200p resolution on those monitors.

I regret not doing enough research beforehand. I’m unsure how to proceed without risking a big mess inside my computer.

You can try this setup: using a compatible adapter like the one from Benfei, it should work. The main challenge is locating a cable that handles 1920x1200 resolution at 60Hz. One option is the StarTech DVI to DisplayPort converter linked here. You might need to trade off USB ports or invest in a dual USB power adapter. If possible, consider buying monitors that support both HDMI and DVI, though finding a 24-inch model is tough. ProductChart is a useful resource for comparison.

It's worth noting that I'm purchasing these monitors for just $30 each, but I don't have much money left to spend. They're the right size I require.

Both displays feature a single DVI-D connection, allowing you to connect a regular DVI-D cable to either one. You can also utilize your USB port along with an adapter for the second monitor.

If they support DVI-D, you just need a device like this: https://www.amazon.co.uk/DisplayPort-Ada...845&sr=8-9 You can skip the DVI to DisplayPort cable.
