I tried to start my pc and it wouldn't post. After replacing the RAM, it worked again. Now it sometimes posts, but if not, the VGA or DRAM light on the motherboard turns on. When it does post, the display port connection drops but it keeps running. I unplugged everything, plugged it back in, and reinserted both the GPU and RAM. I also reset the CMOS. Once it powers on and posts, everything works properly.

Additional details about the full setup would be useful, such as precise component numbers and any history of the hardware functioning well before issues arose. I've tried various approaches, but it's rare to get clear answers without more specific information.

Specs include a Ryzen 7770x processor, RTX 3090 GPU, Corsair Vengeance DDR5 2x16 32GB at 5600MHz, a CPU cooler from Corsair iCue H150i Elite Capellix 360mm, a Gigabyte B650 Elite Ax Am5 motherboard, and a Corsair Rm1000x 80 Plus Gold power supply. I recently replaced the cooler and PSU for Christmas and upgraded the GPU. It functioned properly until it began experiencing problems one night after being used earlier that day without any issues.

Are there any remaining units from the previous model that you had to swap out, or did the current components stop functioning during the replacement process?

I bought it to obtain fresh hardware. It worked perfectly for roughly a week without any issues, but then the display port stopped connecting and several problems began occurring.

Have you attempted to fully detach the graphics card from the motherboard and link the monitor to the integrated CPU graphics via the motherboard video port? If not, please proceed with that method and inform me. Did you buy this video card recently or previously?

It showed up when I applied the integrated graphics card. I installed it, but I saw someone power it on in front of me and it functioned properly.

It doesn't really matter. It also functioned when you brought it home and used it initially, until it stopped working. It's hard to be sure unless you also bought it, so based on your symptoms, it seems the graphics card might be the issue. I'd wager my last coin that the seller was aware of its problems.

Just to make sure we're not missing anything obvious, could you check what version of the iGPU your motherboard uses?

The version of the motherboard is F1 rn. The only item I purchased used was the GPU. This might relate to my processor speed of 100.3 MHz and the processor speed of 4513.77 MHz. Also, inside the GPU there appears to be a lot of thermal paste, located on the core as well as around it.

Examine your motherboard and check for the revision number printed somewhere. For the B650 Aorus Elite AX there are two possible revisions: rev 1.0/1.1 and rev 1.2. Determine which one you have because they use different BIOS versions. I believe yours is rev 1.0/1.1 and you are behind several BIOS updates, so updating the BIOS would be a good first step. After that, perform a hard reset of the BIOS and then reinstall the card to check for any changes. Regarding the thermal paste, it seems the seller may have applied it too thickly or incorrectly, possibly thinking it was necessary. It’s possible the 3090 used thermal pads instead, and if it ended up in the wrong place, it could have caused damage. The card likely overheated before, and the repasting might have been an attempt to fix it temporarily. Did you witness any intense gaming sessions or stress tests, or was this just a demonstration of functionality?
