The RJ-45 to DB9 cable has just arrived. After plugging it into the serial port on your server and the console port on your Cisco switch, nothing appears in Device Manager. You’re not seeing any errors or unrecognized devices.

It seems you're looking for driver support for the serial port on your motherboard.

Use PuTTY to connect and test all COM ports. Usually the device appears in the console, not on the screen.

It’s strange this device is using an OEM Lenovo motherboard without any clues about its true identity

Attempted to manually insert COM3 and COM9, but they disappear after clicking add. No changes made, only a "Connection failed" message appears in Putty.

Consider running Linux to check for hardware problems. Verify the comm port connection properly. Some setups used a cable linking the COM port, which may have disconnected.

I could also verify if the COM port is active in BIOS, but I’m unable to power off the machine in a few days because it’s stuck in the middle of restoring files from a failed NAS drive, which is taking a long time.
