While connecting my audio mixer to a USB audio interface, one of the cables caused a surge that damaged the interface and disabled the USB port on my MoBo. Other ports remained operational. It’s unclear if it’s safe to continue using it, though the PC ran normally without errors. This situation is puzzling since everything else was functioning properly.

It seems unclear what happened with the PC USB. Could you provide more details about the issue?

The connected port isn't functioning properly. This issue doesn't threaten other components on the motherboard; it only reduces the available ports.

I would start an RMA for the board, as this could risk Ur safety, it could be a contained problem to 1 USB, but it's not worth the risk, you should have an RMA with your motherboard supplier, or perhaps a warranty with the supplier that would be easier
