Good evening everyone, I own a NZXT H510 compact case with a USB 3.1 Type C port. My motherboard, an ASUS TUF GAMING B450M-PLUS II, lacks a suitable connection point. Can I connect this USB-C port using an adapter or something so it can work with one of the four front USB 2.0 headers? I’m mainly interested in basic storage for my phone or an Xbox controller, not high-speed performance or heavy power devices. From PC Part Picker, the NZXT H510 case features a front USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type C port, but the Asus TUF GAMING B450M-PLUS II Micro ATX AM4 board doesn’t support the necessary headers. The case’s USB 3.2 Gen 2 port won’t function. Appreciate any suggestions!

Your motherboard supports a standard USB 3.0 port and you can connect an adapter to it.

You might need an adapter similar to the one Freakwise shared to operate the USB-C port from the board's USB 3.0 header. This will limit your performance, and the case’s USB 3.0 (type A) connections will also require conversion to a USB2 header for proper functionality. It depends on your intended devices whether this setup works well. An alternative is purchasing a PCI-e card that matches the internal header for the USB-C port, available on Amazon.

Great! Both of you helped a lot. I placed the PCI-e card because the adapters seem like they’ll grow into something bigger than I need. I’m still learning, so your advice was really useful.
