POP OS screen tearing issue
Usually the safest option is to install a newer kernel. The problem here is you have a new GPU, which means there isn’t much support unless you’re using the latest kernel version. Try installing a distribution like Fedora that runs more recent kernels.
Imagine you need to connect your graphics card to your system without the standard driver. Changing your kernel might resolve the issue?
I noticed the steam should function properly. My main concern is whether Fedora offers a long-term support version—specifically, is that what Fedora 30 provides? Or does it upgrade versions in a different way? I’d prefer to avoid another Windows 10 scenario where an in-place upgrade forces a full reinstall.
Centos is essentially Fedora LTS, but with newer hardware you might not want the LTS version anymore. Upgrading is actually quite manageable, usually taking around 30 minutes or less and generally functioning well.
I wouldn't recommend Fedora 30 or 31 (beta) unless you're comfortable with experimental software and updates.
Try Fedora 30, check out what it does. I use it and it's performed really well for me.
If downloading drivers from AMD isn't the right path, you can find compatible ones on the official AMD website and install them manually for your 5700.
