I tried different RAM modules and even swapped in new BIOS settings, but the issue persisted. After several attempts—shorting jbat pins, draining capacitors, removing the CMOS battery—I still couldn’t access the BIOS. Now I’m convinced my motherboard is failing. I switched to an ASUS B650M-A AX II, which seems more capable, but after updating the BIOS and adjusting settings for better performance, boot times increased significantly and game performance dropped noticeably. What went wrong? I still have 14 days before returning it, and I’m wondering if there’s any chance to fix it.
The extended loading could stem from memory usage if XMP is active; MCR must be turned on to avoid retraining during each reboot. These Asus models don’t have it by default, which might explain the performance drop in Valorant.
