Hey there, I've just set up a new rig and it's not performing as expected on benchmarks. I'm seeing around 3k to 3.5k in Cinebench, which is way below what I expect. I tried adjusting some BIOS settings to lower the voltage when idle, but Precision Boost Override was still active. After resetting BIOS and tweaking power settings, my temps are in the mid-40s during idle. The highest I've seen after several runs was 78°C, which is still well under the 95°C limit. I've heard CPU temperatures can be quite high, so I haven't been too concerned. My build is my first AMD setup, using a custom loop and the cooling setup includes two GPUs on two 360mm fans with high-pressure fans. The PSU is a Seasonic Platinum 1300W. Anyone got any suggestions?
It operates at the default speed according to the BIOS. Adjustments were made with xmp matching the 7k score settings. On Windows, the power configuration was set to AMD balanced with mid-40 at idle—78 focuses more on fan profiles than the CPU itself. The 78 setting remains within acceptable limits. Two 360 models paired with Noctua industrial fans run between 39 and 52 RPM at idle, fluctuating slightly with speed changes. Under full load it stays under 66 RPM. You may want to consider a BIOS reflash, as clearing might be necessary when restoring defaults. This behavior seems specific to Ryzen 3/500 series, but I’m not certain.
Adjust Windows power settings for better performance. Monitor Task Manager during Cinebench runs to identify resource-heavy applications. Use Resource Monitor to check CPU usage and see if other programs are consuming excessive resources. Consider a BIOS refresh, especially regarding thermal paste type. Also, verify your Noctua fans are suited for high static pressure applications—higher RPM fans can improve cooling efficiency compared to standard models.
I’m checking if you applied the MOBO software suite to adjust any configurations. If yes, consider removing it from your system—they maintain persistent settings that could cause issues.
I think you are mixing up my comment with that of the OP's The OP has 6 corsair high pressure fans. As for my Noctua fans, yes they are high pressure and switch between around 900 to 1000 or mayhap I should say me not hearing them at all and me hearing them in the background.
You've checked all the recommendations and even reinstalled the chipset drivers. I updated the BIOS on the motherboard and ran Cinebench again. The results remain the same—mid 3000s performance, with a peak of around 4.7 GHz on single core. In Task Manager, no major CPU usage is visible. I've also looked into whether the issue lies with Cinebench itself, but my first 3D benchmark dropped by half. I've tried powering Windows on all settings, used thermal paste, and installed Asus AI Suite and Armoury Crate, but removed them during troubleshooting.
I noticed something unusual while checking Cinebench and Task Manager: they displayed only half of your threads and cores. This likely explains the reduced score. It could be due to background processes, driver issues, or a problem with your system's performance monitoring. A full BIOS re-flash might resolve it, but I'm not sure.
It looks like you're entering gaming mode. Please disable it in AMD Ryzen Master and try again.
