Poor results in Overwatch 2
I recently upgraded my GPU from a 1050ti to a 7800xt, which previously ran smoothly at 120fps on medium settings. Now it’s struggling to reach 30fps. After a fresh Windows install and downloading the newest drivers (avoiding afterburner issues), nothing has improved. I’ve tried other games like Sea of Thieves and Baldur's Gate 3 without problems, but Overwatch isn’t cooperating. My system specs are: Windows 10 Home 64-bit MSI H310M 1.20 (05/22/2018), Intel i5 8400 2x16 at 2400mhz, AMD Radeon RX7800 XT WD Green 480GB NVMe SSD (boot drive), 1TB HDD Corsair RM850e.
Is your screen connected to the GPU? Check your display options, scroll to the bottom, and select "advanced display settings." Verify if each monitor is using your GPU or your integrated GPU. Noted that other games are working fine—maybe a small glitch. Have you tried reinstalling or repairing OW?
I assume you're aware of this, but I want to confirm: Are you connecting the cable to your monitor via the graphics card or through the motherboard port? Beyond that, if your settings are very low, the GPU might be in a power-saving mode—it doesn't understand it needs to run a game and assumes it's just the desktop. I don't recall Windows 10 having this option, but you can adjust the graphics settings manually under System > Display > Graphics. You might also switch your power setting to High Performance if it's currently set to Balanced (the default).
