I own a RTX 2080, i9-9900k clocked at 3.60Ghz with 16GB RAM, while my friend has a GTX 1070, i7 @ 3.2Ghz and 16GB RAM. He consistently achieves more frames in games than I do. In Modern Warfare (2019) he manages 100-110 frames at medium settings, whereas I get 60-80 on low 1080p and off in Warzone. It seems something might be amiss with my setup or I may have made a mistake. I haven’t used the PC for nearly a year now. I run all games at 1920x1080 at 144Hz, keep my Windows and drivers updated, and have tried restarting it multiple times. There’s no cooling problem either—my system uses water cooling and four case fans. If you can help, could you let me know if there are specific settings or issues I should be aware of? I’ve also shared on Reddit and Discord without much success so far.

It seems your system was fast before, but something has changed now. You think the issue might be with the software rather than the hardware. A simple approach could be to refresh all programs—bios, drivers, OS—and observe the results. More detailed recommendations are probably available once the updates are applied.

Increase the adjustments, as some titles appear to perform less effectively at reduced levels. Consider setting them to medium or high and observe if results enhance.

Your computer runs smoothly under heavy CPU load, which could indicate an issue with your graphics card.

Review the resolution and scaling settings in CoD. Had some odd behavior recently.

I've changed the drivers, Windows, BIOS and reinstalled Windows again, but it didn't work.

No hardware modifications were made. Your usage rates and thermal patterns remain consistent.

During a game of Overwatch, your CPU usage hovered between 15-25%, RAM utilization reached 50%, and your GPU stayed in the 50-90% range. Your GPU temperature peaked at 40°C, but you’re unsure about your CPU temperature.

It's impressive that most of it is running smoothly, except for the GPU. The 90% performance is great. It seems your GPU handles things well. Are there other applications or processes using it besides the game?
